I haven't been updating you for so long! Am considering moving all my posts from "everybodylovesanasiangirl" to "oohlaalaa" when I get back to Singapore. Hmm but that said, I still want to keep them separate as well. Will see will see.

Anyway, just a countdown. The loverbear is coming in 16 days! And I'm going home in 41 days! I'm going to gorge on wantan mee, charsiew duck rice Yeo's soya bean milk AND MANY MANY MORE. Woohoo. (:

Yes, I know I haven't been updating at all. Haha! Pardon me! I didn't have Internet access for the first week in Norway, and after I got it, I didn't really get down to using it very often 'cause we've been out almost everyday and when we return home after a long day in the cold, we have to cook dinner. Well, I'm still alive, after these two and a half weeks. :D I am enjoying myself tremendously, I am. The cold gets unbearable at times but I'm adjusting! Of course, with the help of heat packs and at least three layers of clothings. Haha.

Anyway, I have a separate blog for SEP now. It's HERE!.. so yeps! I've updated quite a bit there already, and I probably will continue to update there as often as I can too. (:

Yes, I have to blog about my lovely Christmas before I left on a jet plane! We had the insane carol-athon at Shangri-La Hotel in the morning to make up for a mediocre performance on Christmas Eve. I died, eventually, with the new pair of cream-coloured heels biting at the ankle. And of course, the motion-restricted choir costume. Haha!

After that, I met the boyfriend to head over to his aunt's place for Christmas dinner. After stuffing myself silly with the goodies and watching a bit of Little Nonya (I still have no idea what's the craze over it), I went home to pick up my sleepover stuff. Yayyy, Michelle drove over with Nadiah, and we began our road adventure to Pasir Ris St 21. (: Christmas sleepover at Jasmine's has become an annual ritual, I say. Which is something I am so not complaining about!

Forever Friend with silly-looking bedroom slippers.

Bestie, who, like me, was wearing a St Nicholas' shirt as pyjamas. Hoooray!

Jasmine's new baby. (:

So cute ah, you!

The Four Musketeers; love each and every one of you so much. Thanks for coming into my life, my dear girls.

So. As to what we did at her place, I really don't know. We reached late, we ordered pizza, we ate, we watched Sex and the City and fell sleep at who-knows-which-episode. (: That's what we ALWAYS do. Throw in a show or movie and fall asleep to it. Heehee! Well, this time round the host very graciously went into hiding in her room and left her three friends in the 'exhibit' room that has no curtains to grant us the slightest privacy while we sleep. HAHAHA! We still love you anyway, you know. :D

So the next day we woke up and was supposed to go to the zoo. But it's so far away and we got a little lazy, I think. So IKEA, always being the good last-minute-I-don't-have-any-ideas-where-to-go plan, came up but we nua-ed for a very long time before we got our four asses out of Pasir Ris.

While lazing on the bed we wanted to set up an E-Zoo! Haha! I think my business ideas are stupid, I doubt I'll make it big and famous. Anyway, so the concept of an E-Zoo is whereby you can visit the animals just by the click of a mouse. So you can watch the animal feeding times online, feed the monkeys, watch the polar bears swim etc. in your home. Novel idea what, right?!

Among other miscellaneous insane things we did, we also made a Carebear Special - a video of them singing Christmas carols. I love it, I really do. Everytime I watch it, I laugh. But it makes me think of home .. so, hmm.

On Boxing Day, I had to attend my Grandaunt's 80th birthday dinner at some Chinese restaurant at Expo. I had a lot of fun but I think all that was on my mind was packing packing packing! Haha! Some photos:

My 'mother' when I was young, haha.

The cousins, with the Birthday Girl hiding behind?!

The cutest baby girl at the dinner.

Yeps, and on the 27th, the musketeers came over to my place TO WATCH ME PACK. No, actually, make that - TO WATCH MY MOTHER PACK. Haha! And we baked blueberry and chocolate muffins! It was reallllyyyy good, so very much unlike the ones I baked, even with premixes. Ah well, it must be my skill, or lack of, then. And while I packed, they watched the Cheesiest movie in the whole wide world - Titanic. Sigh, Leonardo DiCaprio is pretty cute, don't you think. In a cheesy way?

Alrights, I should be blogging more on the other blog for now but I'll still keep this alive as and when I can! :D Cheerios, people! Enjoy Chinese New Year for me!

BYE SINGAPORE!

OH MY GAWWWWD!!! I am finally finally FINALLY leaving. The past Christmas week has been more than awesome and I'm thankful for the time I get to spend with my family, friends and the boyfriend. I'd really wish to update about my lovely week, with photos, of course but I'm just busy busy busy. Oh well, will try will try!

So yeps, bye world, I'll be back soon with an update. And will probably be setting up a travelogue too! Many loves!

inverse proportion.

Yes, it's true. The lesser you study, the higher the grade you get. The semester that just passed was really not exactly what I call 'pretty', and it's one of those semesters where I left the final examinations halls feeling void, that I don't even want to care about the results 'cause deep inside me, I know I'm really going to get a C for some modules.

But life is ironic, really. I didn't even know today's the day of the release of results. I thought it was 26th December, like, you know, at least they should let people enjoy their Christmas Day first? I know you can always check it after the 25th but c'mon, with the knowledge that the results are out and you can just peep at it at a click of the mouse and your userid, are you not tempted? Haha.

This is random.

solitary runner.

There must be something about going on exchange that entitles myself and my friends to meet up more often than we actually do. Some friends I have not seen in eons, some friends I have not gotten a chance to talk to except quick hi-byes in school, some friends I have not hung out with outside of the school compound; I'm meeting or have met most of them already. So I guess going on exchange warrants me to coerce my social groups of friends to spend more valuable time with me just 'cause I won't be seeing them for another six months. Muahahas!

But I'm still scared. And frightened. And worried. And depressed. And sad. I don't know, it's a complicated feeling. I know I will have a ball of a time travelling Europe, no doubt, but it's this feeling in the pits of the stomach that is so hard to explain in words, I can only FEEL it, and no matter how I try to describe it, it just doesn't seem like the right way. I don't want to weep at the departure hall but I have ten thousand pounds to bet I definitely will. 'Cause for some nights, and some certain random bus rides, I caught myself stiffening, my nose starts to redden and the ducts kick into gear. Sigh, I'm such a wimp, seriously.

Other than that, I am not even half-done with packing. The weeks are flying by, and I've been BUSY BUSY BUSY preparing. Basically, shopping for the essentials and costly winter coats that I probably won't wear till another eight or ten years later. The Christmas week spells I-N-S-A-N-E 'cause I have no solitary time to reflect, to mentally psych myself up, and to just chill and cuddle in my bed. So I say, Santa, my Christmas wish this year is TIME, MONEY and SILKY STRAIGHT HAIR, please.

Other than that, I've been exercising to take my mind off things. Running for half an hour, or swimming till my skin turns wrinkly. (: Gosh, I hope I don't put on more weight in winter, you know, since people are supposed to stock up on carbohydrates and the like for hibernation. Oh my mama. Actually, if you think about it, why are women always bearing the brunt of skinny body images? It's not fair, why do we let the men judge us? Of course we women don't want to be fat! Who wants to be tagged as "health at risk", honestly? Just 'cause men are built to burn food faster than women, the women then have to suffer by eating less of their favourite foods in other to remain desirable? Then again, husbands are supposed to love their wives for who they are, even if they go out of shape (haha), right?? But someone told me that the husband would be such a fugly liar. Does that mean that if the wife becomes fat from childbirth in future, he actually secret doesn't want her anymore? Worse, he will look for other sources of entertainment? Men are gross creatures laa, seriously. Admit it, all men are the same.

VISUAL BEASTS :S

Okay, swimming thoughts aside! On Friday, the Themed Sociolinguists (dress code: smart casual) went out to have fun in the sun, metaphorically. YAY! :D We went to MindCafe at Purvis St to hang out over boardgames. Hur, I was rather miffed that even MindCafe has outsourced their staff to China. Eurgghh. How the hell are we supposed to understand heavily Chinanese thickened English? Accks. Oh well, 'twas fun though! Especially Slapogories! Laugh like shit only. (:

I brought Chloe, my polaroid camera! SO I'LL HAVE SUPER LOVELY PHOTOS TO DECORATE MY STUDENT ROOM IN OSLO! :D I love the colours, gahhh! Pretttttty!

PHUA HUISHI; she made bling-bling photoframes for us with epoxy glue, like omg what the hell is epoxy?! Haha!!

CHAN MENGHUI; my little xiao_ming! Hahahaha! She made us photo cards too! At least there're glam(er) photos of me there. (:

JULIANA TAN; my fellow 'real' Linguist! I'm totally sad I won't be taking any more English Language modules with her! She's like, one of my closest EL buddies! :(

ANGUS SHAM CHEUK-YIU; HAHAHA everytime we see your Chinese name we still try to figure out what exactly does it sound like in Mandarin and we will all laugh. Oh wells! That NewUrbanMale paper bag has a sperm that's waiting to crawl onto his face. :S

In the middle of Purvis Street (:

After Mindcafe, the two crazy charbors Huishi and Juls wanted to get the same Polaroid camera so Angoose drove us to Peninsula Plaza to get it! Gosh, it's a price jungle war out there! And if you guys plan to get cameras from there, DON'T EVER GO TO THE FUJIFILM AT THE MAIN ENTRANCE. It's a fuckin' bloodsucker cheaterbug hardseller! He quoted S$165 before slashing to S$145, and after whining he gave Huishi a price of S$120 with a free pack of film. It's actually more expensive than the starting price of Konota Center (S$119), this other Fujifilm shop inside the building. And the sucker uncle took out the set of Energizer batteries in the package and sold her S$6 for some other shit AA batteries! And he wanted to sell the blue pouch for S$12, which was given free by the better Fujifilm shop. Apparently almost everyone who bought anything at the sucker uncle's wanted to sue him or call the police or something, but he is not threatened by anything. Hur, with five people cursing him everyday, I'm sure he'll die from all that karma one day. Whoops.

Juls bought the limited edition fully white version from the second shop, it's sooo awfully pretty and .. snowy? YAYYY so three of us have polaroid cameras to be photo sluts with! I'm so glad I've recruited more people into the club. (:

Meet Floe, Ruby and Chloe!

Next stop, Annalakshmi, the Indian food restaurant that works on donations at Chinatown Point. The India curry is really yummy, and I love saffron rice! And papadum! And thosai! Whoops! I should bring the Besties there one day, it's vegetarian! We each paid five, which was all right haha, 'cause we're students with no income laaa. (:

How can we not take a polaroid picture here? (: Bah, can't see the background but never mind, I'll keep it in my memory. Haha.

Last stop! The TEN-DOLLAR KTV IN CHINATOWN! Hahahahaha! It's not exactly S$10 nett 'cause it was 7.30pm already, but it's still cheap! I think it was less than S$15, and I signed up for the membership card. SO AUNTIE, I KNOW!!! Eh, but it's five years membership lehhhh. Whooops! So next time you guys need to go be pseudo-pop stars, LET ME KNOW!

Haha, can barely see the red lanterns and Chinese New Year street decorations at Chinatown but it's still nice! :D

Uploading photos sucks brainjuices, I don't know if it's the connection but it takes FOREVER. ):

best that i've ever had.

The other day, I think a Saturday, we were supposed to go on the Singapore Fryer but since Caroline couldn't make it, Best Friend and I decided to cycle at East Coast Park! Haha, the moment I woke up to thunderous rain, slight drizzles and strangely warm sun, I was lethargic and want to crawl back into my nest of cushions. Which admittedly, I did. I We predicted that it will rain again in the late afternoon, further re-affirmed by the Channel News Asia website, so we planned an alternative day out.

Being the bum that I am, I made the best friend follow me to Winter Time at the Macpherson warehouse to get leather gloves! :D Hahahaha! It is so out of the way and secluded in the industrial areas. We were supposed to go Coffee Bean at Changi Airport after that to chill since I had a ten dollar voucher (I think I bought it some time ago for something but I forgot about it so might as well use it now haha). Somehow, because I was a pig and I refused to walk 1km to the nearest bus stop, we ended up at the Coffee Bean at Parkway Parade instead.

I HEARTS POLAROIDS!

I need a tan. Or at least, a new swimming costume so I can exercise and get the sun's natural kisses at the same time. But I hate the Christmas shopping crowd. Sheesh, why am I spending Christmas in Singapore? I should be where white Christmases are! Hahaha.

And Monday was something to look forward to, very much. I haven't met up with BOTH the Besties since .. forever. Funny how we're all in NUS but we can't even meet up often, and even if we see each other twice a week, we are so caught up with respective duties we hardly find a chance to talk. Haha, oh well, holidays are here, they are meant for friends. Then again, I'm leaving in ELEVEN DAYS. Sighhh.

Anyhow, our Swensen's escapade was hilarious! I had a heavy lunch before I met them so I opted for complimentary desserts courtesy of Pharrella's vouchers - a banana split.

BUT SHE HAS TWO VOUCHERS WHICH MEANS FOUR FRICKEN COMPLIMENTARY DESSERTS, AND WE HAD THREE BANANA SPLITS AND ONE GOLD RUSH ALTOGETHER. Oh my mama! It's not advisable, I tell you, unless you are a greedy girl or a growing boy then be my guest. As much as ice-cream is supremely heavenly, after eating all that I just felt like a pail of milk and cream, which was super jelaaatt! We're never doing stunts like that anymore okay! Haha! The other eventful day of us three stuffing FOUR main Swensen's courses down is also still fresh and vivid in my memory.

LOVELY, eh?

Toys'R'Us had this row of Piglets with squashed noses. Tsk tsk, I wonder who's the big fat meanie! I think it's cute in an ugly manner. Oh no, I forgot to squeeze the noses out before I left. Guess we were too affected by the blasted air-conditioning in the toy store.

BIG LOVES AND HUGS AND KISSES.

Hello Nadiah Li Feng Bte Mahmood Snore White Kitty

Pharrella Simulacra Wee Xinyi Ariel Annan

On our way back to school for choir practice (we were supppperrr late but acccks), we were horrified to find that the bus 171 will only arrive in (insert gasping sound effect) 68 minutes! It's totally insane, that's more than an hour, no? Oh, look at bus 700A too, I didn't notice it was 97 minutes haha. No worries, we didn't cab to school, nor did we take a detour, the bus came in like 5 minutes anyway. Trust technology, tsk tsk.

I hate hate hate stalking voyeurs. Yes, I do snoop around on Facebook for a bit sometimes but seriously, the extent that you are checking up on us is FUCKIN' DISGUSTIN'. C'mon, get a life! It's sick, the things you are doing. Are you wallowing in such self-pity that you have to stalk on people to feel good? To feel better that no fucking sane person is stalking or even interested in your miserable life? I hate you. I really detest the very sight of you. I wish you were dead.

EURGH.

I've finally fixed the flight details. Sheesh, had to incur a service penalty of S$25 and S$75 for changing the flights. And that's on top of an additional S$88 airport tax fee. Fault's on me too, for procrastinating and not letting Carol the travel agent know soon enough. Oh well, take it as a hard knock to my head to not disregard important things like that in future then. Hahaha.

Soooo, because I am punished with the unnecessary avoidable hundred dollar bill, I shall save money for the rest of the eleven days I am in Singapore. Maybe I should head home for lunch and dinner everyday, eh? And stop going out so often 'cause even if I see pretty summer clothes I won't bloody be able to wear them till six months later, and who knows! Maybe come June 2009, I'll be rollin'. Literally.
